Recognition by North China Municipal Engineering Design & Research Institute of Sichuan Hejia’s Passive Control Technology and Design of Gas Emergency Shut-off Devices

North China Municipal Engineering Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd (NCME)
Founded in 1952, North China Municipal Engineering Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd (NCME) is a subsidiary of China Construction Technology Consulting Co., Ltd., a major national science and technology central enterprise under the auspices of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. In 2008, it became the first in its industry to obtain the certificate for Engineering Design Integrated Qualification Class-A. It also holds Class A Qualification for Urban and Rural Planning, Class A Comprehensive Credit Rating for Engineering Consulting Entities, Class A Qualification for Engineering Investigation (Geotechnical Engineering), Class A Qualification for Engineering Supervision, Grade 2 Qualification for General Construction Contracting, Qualification for Inspection and Testing Institutions, Class I Qualification for Construction Drawing Review Institutions and Qualification for Surveying and Mapping.

Meeting Venue
During the meeting, the Research Institute presented its passive control technology and derivative products in detail to the NCME. Following technical discussions between the two parties, the passive control technology and the design of gas emergency shut-off devices gained full recognition from the NCME’s team. Li Yanqiang, Chief Engineer of the NCME, Deputy Director of the Gas Standardization Technical Committee of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and Secretary-General of the Gas Branch of the China Civil Engineering Society, stated that NCME undertakes national work including city gas standard, new technology certification and new product testing. He added that China attaches great importance to gas safety, with Party and state leaders issuing multiple instructions on this matter. He stressed that the Passive Pipeline Burst Emergency Blocking System can be tested and test reports issued in accordance with GB 41315, and attention should be paid to its application value and scope.
Leading experts from the NCME have preliminarily confirmed that the Research Institute’s passive control technology and gas emergency shut-off devices comply with GB 41315 Safety Shut-off Valves for City Gas Transmission and Distribution Systems. Upon passing tests at the certification center, the products may be promoted in city gas pipelines. Experts from the NCME are willing to recommend more application scenarios for products based on passive control technology, and expressed hope to apply the technology to solve current technical problems.
